The mandatory classification of houses/apartments, shared facilities and services offered by holiday centres is based upon the same principle as the hotel classification, i.e. ratings from 0 star up to 5 stars based on objective criteria. A number of requirements regarding facilities and services must be met before a holiday centre is awarded a specific star grading.
In addition to the mandatory classification of houses/apartments etc. holiday centres can choose to have their indoor swimming-pool facilities classified. The classification is based on a system of points, where each part of the facilities is given a certain number of points. Depending on the total score, the facilities are given between 0 and 5 stars.
